Beginning
How All Of This Started !
Back in April 2007 I started to get all nostalgic and create videos of influences from my youth, as it happens the videos on youtube started to creep up the charts, 100k views already, I find that pretty good going for a niche area, so I setup some wordpress sites for northern soul and for the glasgow mods as well as a site for the bandstand, which if you are from the glasgow area was a very important place to congregate to meet up for parties, weekend bands, a casual chat or just to organise the weekend. It was also a landmark that is now sadly all but gone, i am reaching out to people that were part of the scottish mod scene and those that are just getting interested. Send us your photos, stories and make this a fun well documented site for everyone to enjoy. Finally we all have a place to immortalise and remember some old pals that are no longer with us, it’s nice to remember them as we want to having fun and being together in a group that was more important than religion or where you came from, it was truly a ground breaking period where all people from different areas of glasgow actually mixed and got on, very not like Glasgow with its territorial history.
I have committed a lot of time, money, energy, creativity to help build a platform for those that wish to get back in touch, or for those that don’t they can enjoy the information and just remember. Whatever you want the website for its here and is up to those individuals to do what they may with it.
Keep The Faith and We Are The Mods, after 23+ years it can’t be just a phase it was a LIFE choice, for me I look back personally have no regrets nor would I change anything, it was a unique and still is time.

Hi april,
I came across this site and it brought back some memories for me. I used to be into punk, then in late 70’s got into mod. I used to hang out in Mars bar/ countdown. The scene then was pretty sporadic and fragmented. Used to go up Art School on a friday after the countdown, also glasgow tech college. I remember the rooster on a thursday evening down the stairs (Remember the DJ used to do the Donald competition, he was from Bellahoustan area). I remember some mods from that era (too many pills and booze erazed the rest). i remember the two-tone tour at tiffeneys on the sunday and stirling uni on the saturday (the specials, madness, selector). I remember secret affair (I think it was at Tiffeny’s). the Merton parkas at glasgow uni union. There was other groups whom i cannot remember. I went to the sub club a couple of times, but it was not my scene (no alcohol). I remember 2nd loch lomond festival, the magazine ‘the face’ did a picture of all the mods at that festival (I think it was the 4th or 5th edition). I remember when quadraphenia came out and all the mods going to see it, I remember different groups of people, I remember the name bobby black, however I have no recollection of you april or jimmy.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for posting, it doesnt matter if you dont remember us, the main point is that you were an early mod in glasgow and thats the premise for the reunion happening this year in the summer.
