Hi All,
Before I get started on ranting about the stats, the last few months has seen significant changes to the site, we heard from a lot of users that it was difficult to find old posts, we hope that this is now rectified by the site map on the home links above. I have now introduced a new google map technology to pin point all the locations and try to help outsiders visualise what we are talking about, it also helps us to build a tour of the places we visited along with text, video, music and photos. There are a lot more changes but those being the main ones. I am listening to all of you about what features we build out, as the site gets bigger, this will get slower as e have to balance speed of use over functions, it is a balancing act which takes a lot of time to get write.
We have passed 75,000 views on the website, this can be seen in the Blog Stats picture. That is Unique views and only people are counted once. It does not include myself or the admins visits. The views on the site has grown steadily since its inception, this is down to the content, editorials and the indexing strategy done on the google servers, yahoo servers, msn servers. The amount of pages being served is mind boggling , pages served by the hour runs into 50,000 at it’s peak and averaging 25,000 pages served per hour. Each user that connects to the site, whether logged on or browsing are staying for an average of 9 minutes, the standard for the internet is measured in seconds.
Thanks to everyone who has visited and made this website a great success. Special thanks to our new recruits on the Editorial side, Davie Blair for assisting with Jackie’s photos, Stevie, N.G, Janny and all others who have contributed to the content and given us positive but constructive feedback. I have personally tried to respond as quickly as possible to requests and answering the 300 emails I get every single day. Special thanks to Charlie for doing all the running around and following up leads, this has shown to be invaluable with the lindella footage that was posted and gratefully given to us by Tom Fleming. I think it is safe to say that we are well on our way to documenting the Mod scene in Glasgow and making it available for the world to see. Thanks for reading and listening.
